  • Freshman College students will attend the FCSE program orientation June 30-July 1, 2010.
  • The Freshman College Summer Experience classes will be held from July 2 – July 30, 2010.
  • All FCSE students live together on three floors of Russell Hall during Freshman College and for the duration of their first year at UGA.
  • Students will enroll in six hours of coursework. These hours include a core academic course and a course designed to enhance the transition to college.
  • Freshman College course requirements are rigorous and challenging! One class meeting during Freshman College is the equivalent of one week of class during a regular semester. The pace moves very quickly!
  • Students are required to participate in mandatory Beyond Class programs designed to expose students to events and programs available at UGA and in the Athens community.
  • Each student will choose the Beyond Class programs he/she will attend during Freshman College. Attendance is mandatory and is factored into either the UNIV 1102 or UNIV 1113 grade.
  • The Freshman College requires a great deal from its participants. However, students will benefit from the immersion into student life that Freshman College offers. Students who successfully complete the Freshman College will emerge from the program confident in their ability to successfully navigate the University campus and to meet the academic challenges that lie ahead during their first year at UGA.
