Orientation
All Freshman College students will attend a specially designed UGA First-Year Orientation session June 28 – June 29, 2010. During Orientation you will register for both summer and fall classes. Your participation in the Freshman College guarantees you a space in this Orientation session and you do not need to register for it. Attendance at this Orientation session is required. Although you will receive Orientation materials containing information and instructions in mid-May, reviewing the information listed below will provide you with some information about what you should expect during your First-Year Orientation session. The cost of your UGA Orientation is included in your Freshman College program fee.

During Orientation you will:
  • Take your placement tests
  • Purchase your UGA ID card
  • Meet your fellow Freshman College participants
  • Meet with your assigned Orientation Leader to ask questions and discuss the challenges that lie ahead
  • Meet with your assigned academic advisor to discuss both summer and fall classes
  • Register for your Freshman College and fall semester classes
  • Register for your required Beyond Class programs


Immunization Information
The “Mandatory Immunization History” form needs to be received by the University Health Center at least two weeks prior to your Orientation session. This will ensure that you are permitted to register for your classes while you attend Orientation. If you have not received all of the required immunizations and submitted this information to the University Health Center you will not be allowed to register during Orientation! If you have lost your form you can receive a replacement by accessing http://www.uhs.uga.edu/appts_forms/immunizations.html.

Students with Disabilities
The University of Georgia is committed to providing access for people with disabilities. Orientation Checklist
  • Be sure to refer to the Application Status Check at https://www.admissions.uga.edu/apps/status/ for immunization flags or any additional testing requirements.
  • Confirm that your “Mandatory Immunization History” form has been received by the University Health Center and that you have received all of the required immunizations.
  • To register for a Freshman College parking permit please submit the parking form included in your Orientation packet to Parking Services.
  • Parking permit registration for fall semester can be accessed on the Parking Services website located at http://www.parking.uga.edu. Please note that your Freshman College parking permit does not extend to fall semester. You must register separately for a fall permit. Please visit the Parking Services website for more information on fall parking registration.
  • Make sure your high school has sent your final transcript to the UGA Admissions Office.
  • Please complete the mandatory online alcohol test: https://www.uhs.uga.edu/mystudentbody/index.html
  • Please make sure that you have completed the HOPE Scholarship application. Please visit http://www.gacollege411.org/ for more information or to access the application.
